Would you like to watch a film together and to discuss the film lightly with drink, either beforehand or afterwards?　

ご一緒に映画を見て、その前か後に、映画について、軽く飲み物でも飲みながら、気楽におしゃべりをしませんか。

The following is the plan for 2010.

２０１０年の計画は以下の通りです。

The ninth meeting of the Film Group

Date and time: 15 July, Thursday, 6:30pm-

Place: Tollcross Community Centre, Edinburgh

Film: Spirited Away by the animation director Hayao Miyazaki

Fees: Free

This film was released in 2001 and won in 2002 the Academy Award for the Best Animated Feature and one of the two Golden Bear awards in the Berlin International Film Festival. This has been the best sold film in Japan so far.

The film is about a ten years old girl's experience in a wonderland. It depicts relationships between human beings and nature, cultural decay in excessive economy, to be grown up, and love.

第９回目の映画の会

日時：７月１５日、木曜日、午後６時半から

場所：トルクロス・コミュニティセンター、エディンバラ

映画：宮崎駿アニメ監督による「千と千尋の神隠し」

参加費：無料

この映画は２００１年に封切られ、２００２年には、ベストアニメーション部門でアカデミー賞を受賞、また、ベルリン国際映画祭では、金熊賞のひとつを獲得しました。日本でこれまでもっとも売れた映画です。

映画は不思議の国での１０歳の少女の経験についてのものです。自然と人間との関係、行き過ぎた経済のナ赤での文化的な退廃、成長するということについて、そして愛について描いています。

The eighth meeting of the Film Group　　Finished!

Date: 30 May, Sunday, after watching a film below, around 8pm

Place: Filmhouse Cafe Bar, Edinburgh

Film: 'City of Life and Death' made by the director Lu Chuan

Time the film starts: 5:45pm

This film was created in 2009 by the Chinese director Lu Chuan. It is about so called 'Nanjing Massacre' which took place in 1937 during the second Sino-Japanese war.

第八回目の映画の会 　　　　終わりました！

日程：５月３０日（日曜日）映画を見た後、午後８時ごろ。

場所：エディンバラのフィルムハウス

映画：「南京！南京！」陸川監督による。

映画の開始時間：午後５時４５分

この映画は２００９年に中国人監督陸川によって作られました。第二次日中戦争期の１９３７年に起ったいわゆる「南京大虐殺」についての映画です。

Film: Tokyo Sonata

Fees: Free

This film was directed by Mr Kiyoshi Kurosawa in 2008 and won un certain regard jury award in Cannes International Film Festival and also grand jury prize at Chicago International Film Festival. Mr Kurosawa seems to have become popular internationally by his 1997 film 'Cure', a psychological thriller and had been well known as a director in the horror genre. In this film, however, he moved away from the horror genre and described an ordinally family trapped by difficulties. Yet, this film has been considered as the best film directed by him.

この映画は、２００８年に黒澤清さんによって監督され、カンヌ国際映画祭では、ある視点審査員賞を、またシカゴ国際映画祭では審査員大賞を受賞しました。黒澤さんは、心理スリラーである、１９９７年の映画「キュア」によって世界的に人気を得るようになり、ホラーのジャンルの監督としてよく知られてきていました。ですが、この映画では、彼は、ホラーのジャンルから離れ、困難に陥ったある普通の家族を描いています。にもかかわらず、この映画は、彼が監督した最高の映画とみなされています。
