Difficulties Japanese face include those related to accommodation, employment, working relationship, immigration and any types of services. Although there are many organisations existed to help people who face difficultiets in each area, speaking in own mother tongue first is important while in difficulties. In particular, if an individual in difficulties could talk to someone who has experties in relevant areas and has some connections with the existing relevant organisations, he/she would feel very supportive. It would be also helpful if there is a community where those in difficulties could feel ease.

 

日本人が直面する困難には、住居、雇用、労働関係、移民、また、何らかのサービスに関連したものが含まれます。確かに、個々の分野で、困難に直面している人々を助けるための、多くの組織が存在していますが、困難の最中には、母国語でまずは話ができることは貴重です。とりわけ、もし、困難の中にある個々人が、日本語で、該当の分野の、専門的な知識を持ち、現存する対応する組織との何らかの関係を持っている誰かと、話をすることができるとすれば、大変、心強く感じるでしょう。また、もし、困難の中にいる人たちが安心できるコミュニティがあれば、大いに、助けにもなるでしょう。

 

 

In addition, considering special difficulties the elderly people tend to face in general, such as illness and isolation from the society, it seems to be necessary to create an envirnment where the elderly Japanese could get necessary support in their own mother tongue. For the time being it would be important to gather opinions what would be necessary.

 

加えて、高齢者が一般的に直面しがちである、病気や社会からの孤立といった特別な困難を考慮するならば、高齢の日本人が、母国語で必要なサポートを受けられるような環境を整えていくことは必要なことであるように思われます。当面、どんなことが必要とされるのか、さらに意見を集めていくことが必要でしょう。

Cultures related to Japan have been positively introduced by various existing bodies, in particular through activities organised by Japan-UK 150 in recent years. These efforts are valuable. However, in terms of promoting cultural and educational activities more constantly open to the people in the community, there is a limitation both as a facility and as a system. It seems to be important that there is an office engaging constantly cultural and educational activities open to the public, connecting different types of other public and private bodies. 

 

 

日本に関係した文化は、近年では特に、日本UK１５０によって組織された活動を通じて、様々な既存の組織によって積極的に紹介されてきています。こうした努力は、価値あるものです。ですが、日常的に、地域の人々に開かれてた文化教育活動を推進する、という点では、施設の点でも組織の面でも、制限があるように思われます。一般市民に開かれ、様々な他の公的、私的機関と関係をもって、文化教育活動に日常的に、恒常的に取り組む事務所があることが大事であると思われます。
