We enjoyed very much! とても楽しかったです！

The Japanese Singing Group sang twice and sold Japanese rice balls and bookmarks at the Bazaar organised by the Welcoming Association held at the Tollcross Community Centre on 11 December, Saturday. Around 200 people probably joined the event in total.

日本語合唱団は、１２月１１日（土曜日）にトルクロス・コミュニティ・センターでもたれたウェルカミング協会主催のバザーで、二度の歌う機会を与えていただくとともに、おにぎりとしおりを販売しました。会場には、おそらく合計では、２００人くらいの方が訪れたとのことでした。

On this day thirteen members joined the event. First we sang five songs from noon. After singing 'Hotaru koi' (Come over fireflies) acappella, I introduced that this is the final year of 'the International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World' suggested by the United Nation and a sentence from a children's book written by Mr Todd Parr: Peace is listening to different kinds of music.

この日は、メンバーのうち１３人が参加しました。正午からまず、５曲を歌いました。「蛍こい」をアカペラで歌ったあと、今年が国際連合の「世界の子どもたちのための平和の文化と非暴力のための国際10年」の最後の年であること、さらに「平和とは、違った種類の音楽を聴くこと」という文を、トッド・パーさんという方の絵本から紹介しました。

The five songs were introduced respectively by Satoko (Hotaru koi), Bengt (Furusato), Naomi (Shonen jidai) and Hiroshi (Kimio nosete). The introductions were impressive showing each person's personality. I consider that our singing performances were  fruition of our rehearsals in extra hours and even while making rice balls, supporting each other.     

それぞれの歌については、さとこさん（蛍こい）、ベンクトさん（故郷）、菜織美さん（少年時代）、広志さん（君をのせて）、そして、ファーハンさん（さくら）から紹介がされました。それぞれの個性がでた印象に残る紹介でした。歌は、この日にむけて、特別の時間を設定して、また、当日もおにぎりを作る合間にと、助け合いながら練習をしてきたことが十分にいかされた結果になったように思いました。

Actually there were warm responces to our singing from the audience. The opinions heard were: 'The voice was great in volume', 'I was very touched by listening to Japanese songs after a long time', '"Hotaru koi" was good being different', 'J-pop songs were nice', 'The melody of "Kimio nosete" was good with the piano introduction', '"Kimio nosete" was the best  because it overlapped the film'. The most popular song which people liked was 'Sakura'.

歌を聴いてくださった方からは、とても温かい反応をいただきました。「声量がすごかった」「日本語の歌を久しぶりに聞いて、ぐっとくるものがあった」 「『蛍こい』は、他とは違っていて、良かった」「Ｊ－ｐｏｐが良かった」「ピアノの導入部分と『君をのせて』のメロディが良かった」「映画と重なって、『君をのせて』が一番良かった」という声をお聞きしました。個別の歌では、話した方々が良かったといってくださった一番人気は『さくら』でした。

Thanks to the organiser's suggestion, we sang again two most popular songs, 'Kimio niosete' and 'Sakura' from 3.40pm just before the event ends. Piano accompanists were Takako for 'Furusato' and 'Sakura' and Aimee for 'Shonen jidai' and 'Kimio nosete'. 'Hotaru' was arranged by Takako and 'Furusato' was arranged by Fumie last year.

主催者の方からご依頼いただき、イベントの終わる直前の午後３時４０分から、あらためて、人気のあった二曲「君をのせて」と「さくら」を歌いました。 ピアノ伴奏は、たかこさんが「故郷」と「さくら」を、エイミーさんが「少年時代」と「君をのせて」を弾いてくださいました。また、「蛍こい」の歌のアレンジは、たかこさんがしてくださいました。「ふるさと」は史恵さんが昨年アレンジしてくださったものを使いました。

Ms Calyn Tsukishima gave us big encouragement and support through messages which were on the blog and also by allowing us to use music files she made for our rehearsals for a song! Thank you very much indeed!!

月嶋カリンさんからも、合唱団へのメッセージ、そしてある曲の練習用の音源とアレンジと、大いなる励ましと助けをいただきました！本当にありがとうございました！！

At the stall we did to raise fund we prepared two types of onigiri (Japanse rice balls), with ingredients of tuna mayonase and of mixed vegetable rice and sold each with a cup of Japanese tea. In terms of bookmarks, we prepared two types, one which we made and the other which left a space for a customer' name can be written. The stall was well received and many people came to us!

資金集めのために取り組んだ出店は、ツナマヨネーズと炊き込みご飯入りの二種類のおにぎりを用意し、日本茶とセットで販売しました。手作りのしおりは、私たちが作ったものと、買ってくださったかたのお名前を書き込む二種類を準備しました。出店は好評で、たくさんの方が、訪れてくださいました！
