Many thanks everybody! みなさんどうもありがとう！

The Year-End Party was held at Bonsai from 7pm yesterday. There were 26 people who attended. Thank you very much indeed, everybody who attended!

昨日、午後７時より盆栽にて、忘年会がもたれました。２６名のかたが参加してくださいました。参加してくださったみなさん、本当にどうもありがとうございました！ 

A variety of people attended the party. The youngest was a 10 years old girl, who joins the Japanese Singing Group with her Japanese mother. There are all sorts of age groups up to around 60 attended. There were around 10 students including postgraduate students and exchange students. Many others are doing different types of job. Considering where they are originally from, there were 10 from Japan, 7 from Britain, 2 from China, 1 from Taiwan, 1 from Spain, 1 from Iceland, 1 from France, 1 from Germany, 1 from Turkey, and 1 from the US.

パーティには、さまざまな人々が参加してくださいました。最も若かったのは、日本人のお母さんと日本語合唱団に参加している１０歳の女の子でした。６０歳ぐらいまでの方を含む、あらゆる年齢層の方が参加してくださっていました。大学院生や交換留学生を含んで、約１０人の学生の方がいました。多くの他の方たちは、異なった種類の仕事をしている方たちでした。出身国でみると、日本から１０人、イギリスから７人、中国から２人、台湾から１人、スペインから１人、アイスランドから１人、フランスから１人、ドイツから１人、トルコから１人、そしてアメリカから１人でした。

With brief self-introduction from each attendant, we started the party. Then for a while everybody enjoyed foods while chatting people sitting around. When other customers left, after brief introduction, 6 members of the Japanese Singing Group sang three songs. I felt all really enjoyed the singing. Finally I briefly explained what sorts of activities the Japanese Institute of Scotland (in preparation) have been doing and what are planned in 2010. As a whole, all seem to have enjoyed the meal, talking to others, and the singing. 

各々の参加者からの簡単な自己紹介とともに、パーティはスタートしました。そして、しばらくは、食事をしながら、周りに座っている人たちとおしゃべりを楽しみました。他のお客さんが去られてから、簡単な紹介のあと、日本語合唱団の６人のメンバーが三つの歌を歌いました。みなさん、歌をとても楽しんでくださったと感じました。最後に、私が簡単にスコットランド日本会館（準備中）がどんな活動をしてきているのか、また、何が２０１０年には計画されているのかを説明しました。全体として、みなさんが、食事、他の方と話すこと、そして、歌を楽しんでくださったようでした。
