Preparing for Nausicaa night ナウシカの夜に向けて

Yesterday I bought an entire set of seven volumes of manga of 'Nausicaa of the valley of the wind' at the Forbiddedn Planet, South Bridge, Edinburgh. This set is in English translation.

昨日、エディンバラのサウス・ブリッジにある、フォービヅン・プラネットで、「風の谷のナウシカ」の漫画の７巻本のセットを購入しました。このセットは英語翻訳版です。

Actually somebody who joined the Film Group held at the Filmhouse has been working here and informed me that there is this set here. This was the first time for me to visit this shop. When I got there I was so surprised to find two lines of shelves which were covered by mostly English translated versions of  various Japanese mangas. At the moment they have an offer of 'two for three'.  

実は、フィルムハウスでもたれた映画の会に参加してくれたある方が、ここで働いておられ、このセットがここにあることを私に教えてくれていたのでした。私にとっては、今回が、このお店を訪ねたはじめてでした。お店にいって驚いたのは、二列の書棚がほとんど、さまざまな日本の漫画の英語翻訳本で埋め尽くされていたことでした。現在、「二冊の値段で三冊」ということで売り出しています。

I bought the set in order to prepare for the night on 12 December to watch the same name film. The film has been based on the first two volumes of the manga version. The author of the manga, Mr Hayao Miyazaki, was also the director of the film. He is now well known worldwide by his animations, including 'Spirited Away' and 'Princess Mononoke'. This Nausicaa film can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

このセットを買ったのは、同じ名前の映画を見る１２月１２日の夜の準備のためでした。映画は、この漫画版の最初の二巻に基づいています。漫画の著者、宮崎駿さんは、この映画の監督でもあります。「千と千尋の神隠し」や「もののけ姫」を含むアニメで世界的に知られています。このナウシカの映画は、子どもたちも、大人もともに楽しめる映画です。
